Origins of CocoCaravan
Jacques founded CocoCaravan as a way to combine several of his personal beliefs and passions into a business that can make a tangible difference in the world. He is obviously a huge fan of chocolate, particularly high-quality craft chocolate and bean-to-bar.

Supporting our Farmers:
Our ethics go beyond protecting the planet though, as it’s important we support the people without whom we wouldn’t be able to make and enjoy the chocolate we love! The chocolate industry is sadly rife with atrocities, including child labour and slavery, particularly in Western Africa where much of the world’s cacao is grown. It’s imperative for us to absolutely avoid this kind of cacao, so we only work with trusted and proven suppliers whose values are aligned strongly with our own.
We source our cacao from suppliers and farmers in Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean. All our suppliers support their farmers with fair prices for their cacao, as well as offering a route to market for small farmers who would otherwise struggle, and providing educational support for more sustainable and effective farming methods.
Protecting Our Planet:
Our beliefs in terms of environmentalism and clean living are translated directly into the way we make our chocolate and run the chocolate studio. We only use organic and fairly-traded ingredients, supporting smaller farmers all over the world. Our packaging is 100% recyclable and compostable as we only use natural materials and plant-based inks. Our studio in Stroud runs off local-provider Ecotricity’s power, who only generate electricity with green methods such as solar and wind.
Many of the farms our cacao comes from use agroforestry farming, a method where the crop is grown in and amongst the existing trees, protecting our precious rainforests from being cleared to grow cacao.
Our mission is to protect our planet by working with sustainable methods, both in terms of energy and sustainable farming practices. We aim to protect our planet and support sustainable farming so we can continue to enjoy great chocolate in the future!
